Exchange Rate Calculator

The converted amount updates as you type.

Rate as "1 unit of your source currency = ? units of the target currency" — e.g. 1 USD = 1.10 EUR. Enter your own rate; this tool does not fetch one.

How it works

The converted amount is just amount × rate, where rate is however many units of the target currency one unit of the source currency buys. The reverse rate is 1 / rate — how many units of the source currency one unit of the target is worth, useful when you next need to convert money back the other way without hunting down a second figure.

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't this look up a live exchange rate for me?

This site makes no network requests at all — see the privacy page for details. Exchange rates also move constantly during market hours, so any rate baked into a page would already be stale by the time you read it. Entering your own rate keeps the result honest about where the number came from.

Where do I find a current exchange rate?

Your bank or card issuer, or any currency-focused site, will show today's rate — often with their own conversion fee already factored in, which is worth checking if you're budgeting for an actual transaction rather than just converting a figure. Paste whatever rate you find into the field above.

What is the reverse rate for?

You supply the rate as "units of target currency per 1 unit of source currency." The reverse rate flips that around — how much of the source currency one unit of the target is worth — which is the number you'd want if you were converting money back the other way, without having to look up a second rate.
